John Ianniello is a mixed-media painter who works primarily with acrylics and printed materials. Born in New York in 1959, he has been drawing since the age of three. As a child, he sketched everything he saw on television—characters from The Wizard of Oz, the animals of Wild Kingdom—and his fascination with imagery only deepened as he grew.
John went on to study Fine Art at New York City’s School of Visual Arts and began his professional career as an entry-level graphic designer at 22. Unsatisfied with the constraints of corporate work, he chose to pursue his own path as a mural painter, a decision that led him to projects across the United States.
After decades of creating art for clients, John has come full circle. His current canvases are more vibrant, playful, and expressive than his earlier works, reflecting a renewed focus on making art that reveals more of himself.
